Clippers get back to work in Ohio After Big Win, Emotional Night In Orlando
The Clippers arrived in Cleveland just after 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7 following their 107-102 overtime victory in Orlando. Seemingly hours after defeating the Magic, the Clippers were back at work on the practice court at Quicken Loans Arena, preparing for a Cavaliers team that is still in Florida, facing the Miami Heat tonight.
Clipper head coach Vinny Del Negro and the coaching staff had an extensive film session with the squad, who then took part in shooting drills as the newest member of the team, Kenyon Martin continued to work his way into the team. Both Martin and Del Negro would not put a timetable on when the veteran forward would make his Clippers debut, but both are aiming for some time this week.

Clippers guard Chauncey Billups was not at practice on Tuesday. Instead, the 5-time All-Star was in a Cleveland hospital, getting an MRI on the left Achilles that he injured with just under six minutes remaining in the Clippers win over Orlando.

The veteran was helped off the court and left the stadium on crutches, and his absence from practice was notable, according to Del Negro.
“He is getting it checked out,” Del Negro said. “He is having an MRI done today and we will see where we go from there. We miss him, and we can just hope for the best right now. We will reevaluate things when we know more.”
The injury to Billups turned what should have been a jubilant post-game locker room into a somber one.
“Chauncey’s first in our minds,” Del Negro said. “All I can say is it was very quiet in the locker room, very quiet on the bus and very quiet on the plane. Everybody knows how important Chauncey is, and everyone respects him and what he brings to the team. We feel bad for him more than anything, so we will see what the results are and go from there.”
“It will probably be Randy,” Del Negro said. “And now, of course, Mo is going to have to play more point guard as well. It just comes down to getting our rhythm down and coming together again.”
Williams returns to the city where he played for over two seasons, and where he was an NBA All-Star in 2008-09 when he averaged a career-high 17.9 points per game.
Foye has started six games already this season, and in his career has averaged 14.8 points, 4.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 172 starts, while putting up just 8.1 points, 2.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 174 career games off the bench.
The Clippers take on the Cavaliers on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 4:00 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on Prime Ticket, 980 AM and 1330 AM.
