Former Albuquerque Thunderbird Andreas Glyniadakis Competes in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., AUGUST 11, 2008 – Andreas Glyniadakis a 7’1” center from Greece and a former member of the 2005-2006 Albuquerque Thunderbirds’ NBA Development League Championship Team, is currently competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Glyniadakis is sporting number 11 at the center position and playing for the Greek National Team.

Glyniadakis was member of the Albuquerque Thunderbirds during the 2005-2006 championship season, he came to the NBA D-League after spending time with the Thunderbirds’ then parent team, the Seattle Super Sonics. Glyniadakis was a member of the Thunderbirds during the 2006-2007 season as well. During his time in Albuquerque Glyniadakis averaged 12.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Outside of Olympic competition Glyniadakis currently plays for Greece’s Maroussi Costa Coffee team.
