Prospect Profile: Landry Fields

We continue our series with a profile of Stanford forward Landry Fields.
Any team looking for a dynamic scorer would do extremely well drafting Stanford’s Landry Fields. After all, the electric wing player spent four years showcasing his tremendous athleticism and basketball IQ in the highly competitive Pac-10.

Fields averaged a tremendous 22.0 points, 8.8 boards, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals during his senior year. A First Team All-Pac-10 selection, his 22.0 points per game led the conference and ranked eighth in the entire nation. Most impressively, he proved to be a big game player, averaging 25.0 points and 12.0 boards vs. top-25 opponents.

Extremely heady and efficient, Fields is a match up nightmare who knows how to fill up a stat sheet. The 6-foot-7, 215-pounder attacks the basket with reckless abandon and possesses both a strong face-up and post-up game that keeps defenders off balance. He is also a very tough young man who does not get intimidated easily on either side of the court. Defensively, he uses his long reach to get in the passing lanes and disrupt the opposition’s rhythm.

While many may not be familiar with him as he has played on the West Coast, Fields’ tremendous talents are sure to make him a well known name during his NBA career.
